Draft Review Cleveland Browns: Draft Position 17

Best Pick: WR Kelvin Benjamin. Despite drawing opponents' top cover-corner on a weekly basis and an offense incapable of padding his statistics in any way shape or form, Landry managed to nearly outshine some higher rated rookie catchers. He ended up catching 84 passes for 758 yds, and 5 touchdowns which earned him second among all rookies. He also proved to be a solid return man. See when O.Beckham , M.Evans ,S.Watkins & K.Benjamin were drafted and snatching a Number one Receiver for a team with probably the worst Receiving Squad in the GFFL at 20th then was a coup!

Potential Bust: QB Johnny Manziel. Manziel has a lot to prove after a disappointing rookie campaign in Ohio. was thought to be a gift handed to the Browns. They traded up to get him. But he also has some major character concerns after his off -field issues & arrests. He struggled all year. Manziel  brought upside as backup to Andy Dalton, but hardly a impact player for 2015 season.
There was no real need for trading up for a player with so many red flags at this point.

Could surprise: ILB Avery Willamson. Williamson was a fifth round find for the Titans.  He started 12 games, made 73 tackles with 3 sacks.  He showed great athleticism and playmaking ability and should find himself in the starting lineup from day one in 2015. Browns had a huge need at ILB following the retirement of their heart & soul of the defense in Patrick Willis . Waited nearly too long in this draft to grab a solid one. (Took Williamson at end of 3th Round.

Tell me why: Cleveland was criticized for trading up and trying to get a backup for QB A.Dalton? Browns GM believe that QB Manziel has chance to revitalize his career and be a potential starter in the future, but:
Manziel was a flop his rookie season.  He couldn’t beat out Brian Hoyer for the starting gig and seemed more happy partying off the field then playing on it.  The game he did start was a disaster as he threw for just 80 yds with 2 interceptions.  Manziel needs to get his head on straight and put the work in this offseason if he wants to stay in this league.
Adding another player at another position could have been the better option..because it did cost them a fourth rounder next year.

Final Grade: B-
Avery Williamson looks like a long term starter and leader at inside linebacker.  He flew to the football and made some splash plays on a defense that was desperate for them. They found quality replacements or young depth with upside at WR whre they needed it. Overall, this class was a hair underwhelming in it’s first year but could easily be looked at as a great Draft down the line if and when some of these middle picks begin producing.

Draft Review Baltimore Ravens:  Draft Position 6

Best Pick: MLB C.J.Mosley. Ravens, Mosley was uber impressive his rookie year.  He racked up 133 tackles, 3 sacks, 2 interceptions and forced a fumble.  He could have easily been named Defensive Rookie of the Year.
Mosley couldn`t find a better place to start his GFFL Career as the Ravens wanted him right from the start and because his speed and skills fits Baltimore`s attacking Defense perfectly. They traded up only two spots because they were scared that the Texans would pick Mosley ahead of them, but i think if you wanna have a guy you think its a perfect match you gotta go after him no matter what (see the Bills Draft with WR Sammy Watkins)

Potential Bust
: RB Jerrick McKinnon
Guard John Urschel is a tough guy who fits Oli's preference for strength at the point of attack and Jerrick McKinnon certainly offers tools, as well, but this wasn't the type of draft that will significantly close the gap between Baltimore and division-leading Pittsburgh, because both players were slight reaches, there were better players still available on my board. Hopefully he proves me wrong, but I thought McKinnon was not the kinda lead back the Ravens needed.

Could surprise
: DE/DT Timmy Jernigan. Jernigan played in 12 games and made three starts.  He made 23 tackles in that span with 4 sacks. Those are good numbers from a big space eater.  He proved to be worth the second round selection.

Tell me why:
GM Chazal didn`t inclucde a single WR or TE in his draft . The Jimmy Garappolo Pick was a very expensive luxury one, one in my opinion the team better would have spent on a WR, because R.White is 33 and there is minimal depth at TE and WR. Is Garrapolo more value than QB Gabbert? How many catches do the Ravens`s TE`s , WR`s behind White, Shorts and T.Smith have all together..? Correct: 13 Catches !! WHAT? Got it what i mean..?
Why did they wait so long on a young promising RB, because Ray Rice is done and Pierce close to it. Jerrick McKInnon was not a bad choice, but doesn`t look like a three down back who could handle the load of a full time starter . Good Luck Baltimore Management ..if Peterson stays in Minnesota..?

Final Grade
: C +
They’ve been looking for a successor to Ray Lewis and now have him on the roster in CJ Mosley.  Mosley was a flat out beast not just with his 133 tackles, but making game changing sacks and interceptions.  He is easily one of the best young linebackers in the NFL today.  They also hit on their second round choice of DT Timmy Jernigan.  Jernigan was able to shut down the run as well as pressure quarterbacks, which was evident by his four sacks.  Like Mosley, he should be a long term fixture on this Ravens defense.  The Ravens didn’t have as much luck in year one with their third round choice.
GM Olivier saw enough in Patriots quarterback Garappolo to draft him in the third round at No. 75 overall, making him the fifth quarterback off the board. Overall, the Ravens addressed some needs and came away with a few talented players, but Garappolo as the future quarterback of the franchise is an interesting direction. Ravens had a lot of value picks before this draft to deal with. In "Oli"/"Ozzie Newsome" we trust philosophy paid off, as Ravens first two picks are sure week 1 starters. But every later picks looks nothing more than depth at best, too few in comparison with other teams drafts this year to earn a B Grade.

Draft Review Houston Texans:

Best Pick:

Potential bust:

Could surprise:

Tell me why:

Final Grade: A
The Texans identified their most obvious weaknesses and set about fixing them with their first two selections. DE Pierre Paul comes fresh off a monster season in NFL, but would have faced double teaming on every snap in GFFL 2K12. Now with Acquisition of J.J.Watt he gets a big presence partner on the other DE side that will help imense. K.J.Wright should be solid, something Texans need at one of the league`s weakest LB corps. GM Knox was one of the most active GMs at draftday , dealing and trading like wizzard to get more targeted players.
The Texans underachieved last year, but they used their high draft position wisely. After this rock solid draft there are no more excuses for Mr.Knox , if the don`t battle for a playoff spot this year.

Draft Review San Diego Chargers

Best Pick: OLB Sam Acho. After the injury loss of OLB Terrell Suggs Chargers secured themselves of a capable replacement with the talented backer from the dessert. Former DE, who has great pass-rush skills, is smart and hardworking in the film and weight room.

Potential Bust: CB Chris Culliver. He was rated as a fifth Round Grade on my board. Marginal talent with nothing special in any area. By no means a lock to be a starting NFL caliber CB. No.42 overall way to high, there have been some better skilled CB prospects available at this spot.

Could surprise: ILB Chris Carter. Carter fits the San Diego defense perfectly. He is an edge presence, and Chargers won't ask him to do too much in coverage. He is an outstanding athlete who will develop into a good player. He had a quiet season as a rookie, finishing with eight total tackles while playing in 10 games. So Chargers need patience.

Tell me why: Did the Chargers trade for QB Josh Johnson, a QB with a ugly QB Rating and someone who will find it tough to land a starting chance in the future? GM Schröder should have gone after someone like Rex Grossman, who at the very least would have been a stopgap solution until King Peyton Manning is ready to be back under center. With Johnson, every single pass will be an adventure and for a team with annual Superbowl aspirations, there is no excuse for such a weird transaction.

Final Grade: B
Call it the all Purpose Defensive Draft, as six of the seven draft choices went on fixing the Defense. Not a single offensive Player ( Punter Hartman was seventh choice) was selected , so Bolts look very confident going into the "Manningless" offensive season. Chargers were beaten by three points by the Bills and hold back for a second consecutive year in the AFC Championship game and Superbowl Chance. Guys like Sheard, Acho and Carter are promising players for the future, but with QB Manning lost for the upcoming season, L.T. retiring, this draft lacks any offensive help or impact to give GM Schroeder a higher Draft Grade.
